Belize to Observe World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

The issue of human trafficking has been one that Belize struggles with as it relates to the conviction rate and arrests of the ring leaders. World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is being observed on Friday, July thirty. On the local front, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is taking the lead in the campaign against human trafficking. According to Juana Murillo of the ATIPS Council, the focus this year will be on the survivors and the goal of the council is to engage the public by launching an art competition.
