Aviva and the Flying Penguins won Akademia's 2017 Artist of the Year Award and I gotta say they put on a party! It was packed like sardines in there but I wasn't even claustrophobic at all!! And boy could so many dance! There was just so much love in the room my inner child wasn't scared! Strangers congratulated me with such sincerity it didn't even feel like a competition. It truly felt like a room full of artists giving the love already and doing what they are meant to do. The description read to introduce this award is deeply honoring and moving
