Dominic Raab: We were 'caught by surprise by the speed' of the Taliban

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab says it is hard to estimate how long it will take to get people out of Afghanistan, adding "we were all caught by surprise by the speed and pace and scale of the Taliban takeover".

Asked whether the UK should have done more, Mr Raab says "of course we would have taken action" if we had known what was ahead.

The foreign secretary also says "thousands" of Afghans will be allowed to settle in the UK.
