Having said that, in Africa the Buffalo is considered to be one of the most dangerous herbivores around. although many Buffalo are taken by lions hunting in groups, there have been cases where the isolated lion who got separated from the hunting pack has been killed by a herd of angry buffalo. They can stomp the cornered lion to death, and in some cases their sharp horns have pierced the lion and hit a critical part of the lion’s innards leading in death of the lion.
