Walking through the doors of the Changing Lives Center for a second time didn’t draw the condemnation Steve thought his return, even in humility, would bring. After all you don’t come into rehab on a winning streak. You always feel you have another relapse in you. But do you have another rehab in you? Remember some don’t make it. They’ve spent their last rehab and they know it! If the rehab community is welcoming and forgiving, is this an indication of how God approaches us in our repentance and humility? Is He not the God of second chances? Here’s a little bit from Steve, “Seeing the guys that I was in program with, they welcomed me with open arms. They cheered me up and I could feel God here. I really could, walking back on here. This is holy ground, man. And I could feel that presence right away of the fellowship and the love - the one thing that I skirted in isolation. I've learned more from these guys now, when we have groups and those kinds of things, and the instructors are great here. But just learning from my peers, I've gotten so much great stuff just from the guys in class, and those I'm living with here in community. God has forgiven me and accepted me.”
