WFLD Channel 32 - End of Latenight 32 - "Malibu Beach" and Station Doze-Off (7/10/1987) 💤 😴

Here's the ending moments of Latenight 32's presentation of "Malibu Beach" [1978], followed by nearly 30 minutes of the station ID slide for WFLD Channel 32 where all this aired.

Includes:

Latenight 32 title sequence, with voiceover (by Jim Barton) hoping you enjoyed the movie, and almost-but-not-quite-sign-off advising they'll resume programming at 6:30am (both this and the bumper show the final Metromedia-era 32 logo)

Promo for 21 Jump Street - with Holly Robinson

32 slide (with fonts in various weights of Friz Quadrata - Fox' type family of choice in those early years of the Fox network and especially after they took over stewardship of the former Metromedia stations) first shows up at 4:02, then at 10:31 the familiar voice of Jim Barton gives out the station ID (likely indicating around 6:00am); tape cuts out 27 minutes later, so unfortunately we miss the resumption of regular programming at 6:30am. (Dang!)

This aired on local Chicago TV early Friday, July 10th 1987 during the (approx.) 5:50am to 6:27am timeframe.

About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:

The MCCTv (FuzzyMemoriesTV) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s to early 80s, mostly) recorded off of TV (in Chicago or other cities now too); things which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. If you have any old 1970s videotapes recorded off of TV please email: tapes@fuzzy.tv Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical preservation. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to DVD, please e-mail tapes@fuzzy.tv Thank you for your help!
