Andrews is ‘out of sync’ with the needs of businesses and is showing ‘zero empathy’

Chapel Street Precinct General Manager Chrissie Maus says Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews is “out of sync” with what businesses need and is showing “zero empathy”.

Ms Maus said all of the 2,200 businesses she represents are finding it tough under the lockdown measures and many are falling through the cracks when it comes to support from the state government.

“I feel like if Dan went for an actual walk down Chapel Street, which he should be, he’s the premier of the state, he would actually understand what the feeling is,” she told Sky News Australia.

“Dan, you need to listen to your state. We are pleading, we need to have a carrot.

“I’ve been double jabbed, so have so many other people. Chapel Street Precinct businesses want to open and we need to be opened right now to those who are double jabbed.

“And you need to stop giving us zero hope because what that is doing to our souls and our livelihoods is beyond what COVID is doing right now.”
