A year and a half into the coronavirus pandemic and things are nowhere near slowing down at UC Davis Medical Center, causing a strain for staff that some say affects patient care while others believe patient care remains unaffected. "We are busy. We're busier than we have been probably ever because of the combination of COVID patients and people who have delayed care and now need care but are coming in sicker," said UC Davis Health spokesperson Steve Telliano. Nurses said it is taking a toll on them. "Since delta kind of hit the Sacramento Valley in mid-summer, it has really changed everything," said Jenny Managhebi, a registered nurse who works on UC Davis Medical Center's cardiology floor.
