Just as many of us totally believed Trump would be in jail by now, a substantial number of us also believed that, after January 6th, people would have to be completely insane (or anti-American) to continue to support Trump. Unfortunately, we had no idea just how many completely insane, anti-American Trumpers and Republicans there were out there. Mangy Fetlocks, still having difficulty wrapping his old square head around the idea of all these un-American, deranged simpletons still posting Trump signs on their lawns, thought maybe writing a song about it might ease his own anxiety over the issue. We never thought, they’d be that dumb
To keep on worshipping that orange-stained latrine,
a guy whose thoughts were petty, ill-informed and mean.
We’re shocked that some would be that dumb.
We never guessed they’d never learn
despite his telling them an endless string of lies,
and changing stories right before their very eyes.
That they’d not learn, was never our concern.
It’s clear we were naive, or chose not to believe
that our fellow citizens were hopeless rubes
who’d get played by a con whose middle name was John
and viewed them all as helpful, brainless boobs.
We never dreamed they’d be so thick
as to not back off once his true colors were shown.
acting more like children than folks who are grown.
Either they’re thick, or kind of sick.
It’s clear we were naive, or chose not to believe
that our fellow citizens would be such chumps
who’d get all starry eyed and strive so to deny that
the crookedest family ever was The Trumps
