Cities in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region have taken actions to ensure adequate heat supply to beat the impact of continuous temperature dropping.

Inner Mongolia has seen a sharp drop in temperature in many places affected by the cold air in the past few days.

In Genhe City, the temperature has dropped to about minus 10 degrees Celsius. In order to ensure urban heat supply, the authority has upgraded the old heating system across the city and started to offer heating service in September this year.

Residents living in Linye Community of Genhe City said the upgrade of the heat supply system ensure the temperature in houses reaching about 20 degrees Celsius.

"It has changed a lot. After the heat network was upgraded this year, our house becomes warmer. Look, the window at the balcony is opening now, and we can just wear short-sleeved shirt in the room," said Wang Lijuan, a resident of Genhe City.

Genhe City is known as "Cold Pole in China" because of its large temperature difference between day and night. The annual average temperature in Genhe is minus 5.3 degrees Celsius and the lowest temperature can reach minus 58 degrees Celsius.

This year, Genhe City invested 44 million yuan to update and transform the old heating facilities. The heating coverage area has increased from 2.08 million square meters to 2.48 million square meters, benefiting more than 24,000 households in the city.

The Inner Mongolia meteorological observatory issued a blue alert for frost on Friday, warning residents that the lowest temperature in many cities would drop below zero degree Celsius and reminding farmers to take protective measures for crops, flowers and forestry breeding.

連日來，受冷空氣影響，內蒙古多地氣溫驟降。

根河市的氣溫已降至-10攝氏度左右。為保障城市供暖，當局對全市舊供熱系統進行了升級改造，並於今年9月開始提供供暖服務。

居住在根河市臨掖社區的居民表示，供暖系統升級後，房屋溫度達到20攝氏度左右。

“變化很大，今年供暖升級後，我們家暖和了。你看，陽台的窗戶現在開了，我們在房間裡穿短袖就可以了。”根河市居民王麗娟說。

根河市晝夜溫差大，素有“中國冷極”之稱。根河年平均氣溫為 -5.3 攝氏度，最低氣溫可達 -58 攝氏度。

今年，根河市投資4400萬元對老舊供暖設施進行更新改造。供暖面積由208萬平方米增加到248萬平方米，惠及全市2.4萬多戶。

內蒙古氣象台週五發布霜凍藍色預警，提醒居民多城市最低氣溫將降至零攝氏度以下，並提醒農民做好農作物、花卉、林業養殖等防護措施。
