Barely a week after Minecraft Live 2021, the Minecraft team has posted Bedrock Edition beta 1.18.0.22, with our first in-game look at Sculk Blocks!
We've had a while to get used to the Sculk Sensor, but this beta adds Sculk, Sculk Vein, Sculk Catalysts, and Sculk Shriekers to the game. The Warden does not appear yet, and neither do Ancient Cities or the Deep Dark biome, but the Darkness effect and growth mechanics are present in this beta - along with the new music by Lena Raine and Kumi Tanioka added in this week's Java Edition Snapshot.
In this video we take a look at basic Sculk growth mechanics - answering questions like "do players deaths spread the Sculk?" and "Does the Ender Dragon spread it too?" - then play around with the Darkness effect and the building potential of Sculk blocks.
