In this video you'll know about sisomicin which is a wide-spectrum, rapid acting bactericidal
antibiotic that provides highly effective topical treatment in
primary and secondary bacterial infectios of the skin. Inimpetigo
contagiosa and other primary skin infections, it promptly clears
the lesions.
Indications: Impetigo contagiosa, superficial folliculitis,
ecthyma, furunculosis, sycosis barbae, and pyoderma
gangrenosum. Infections eczematoid dermatitis, papular acne,
pustural psoriasis, infected seborrhoeic dermatitis, infected
contact dermatitis.
Dosage : Apply gently to the lesions twice daily. The area
treated may be covered with a gauze dressing.
Contra-indications: Sensitivity reactions. Not for ophthalmic
use.
Special Precautions: Overgrowth of non susceptible
organisms including fungi. If irritation, sensitization or super
infection develops, discontinue.
Paediatrics: Use with caution.
Pregnancy & Lactation: Contraindicated.
Elderly: Use with caution.
Side-effects : Irritation, erythema, pruritus.
Drug Interactions: Potentiates nephrotoxicity produced by
nephrotoxic drugs. Potentiates ototoxicity produced by ethacrynic
acid, aminoglycosides. Plasma level increased by indometh-
acin. Incompatible with some beta-lactam antibiotics,
