TRIAL BOMBSHELL: Smollett says he was in contact with CNN's Don Lemon during investigation

Jussie Smollett has told a Chicago courtroom that he was in contact with CNN anchor Don Lemon during the early part of a police investigation into an alleged hate crime attack.

While testifying under oath on Monday local time, Mr Smollett said he received a text from Mr Lemon early into the investigation into his alleged attack.

Mr Smollett claimed Mr Lemon told him via text the Chicago Police Department did not not believe his account of what transpired.
