The DOWNSIDE to My Favorite Cloth Diaper System: Pocket Diapers & Flats

I love pocket diapers and flats. They have been my favorite combo for years now!
However, both of them come with downsides lol

I love pocket diapers because of the stay dry lining. The ONE flat surface makes it easy to spray poop off of. The downside to pocket diapers: they take forever to stuff. After almost 8 years of cloth diapering 3 children it can be annoying to constantly stuff diapers every other day. Theyre more time consuming than other diaper systems.

Flat diapers used as the absorbency/insert is my fave! I would even argue that flats are superior lol. However, they also take time to fold into a rectangle to use as an insert. When paired with pocket diapers, it is the most time consuming system.
Is that a bad thing? no. I just want you to be aware before you jump in! I having been using this combo for 4-5 years now and I havent hated it yet lol.

I really love stretchy flats, but I do consider stretchy flats to be a “luxury” flat. If you can’t afford stretchy flats, receiving blankets and muslin flats are a great flat diaper!

Just like with anything in life though, there are downsides. I think it's important to be fully empowered and to know all sides of the coin when jumping in!
